It was designed by Erlich Architects in the United Arab Emirates.  It's nice to look at yet when you consider it is not a hotel but in fact a house you start to feel like it's way too much.  I think maybe that's my issue with it.  It's got that sparsely furnished modern vibe I enjoy but it's way too opulent all at once. We started the day at the framers market where we got some strawberries (which Anders promptly ate), avocados for guacamole later in the day, cabbage plants (to hopefully make sauerkraut with later in the year) and pepper plants. I think they must live in the soil of my houseplants.  Apparently these are known as fungus gnats.  They are so annoying!  I must figure out how to get rid of them once and for all. Kind of geeky but also cool.  There's this guy (Reuben Margolin) who makes the most radical kinetic sculptures.  They are just amazing.  Check out the segment here or visit his webpage for some still photos and several other videos.  I can't stop watching the sculptures move.  They're so fluid.
